the cove

Who wouldn't love spending the day here...
It was a gorgeous day in La Jolla and we decided to head down to the cove.  We walked along the water and watched the waves.
It's crazy to think back.... this was a picture of the very 1st time Madison ever went to the cove
how fast time flies....
There was also a "Concert in the Park" going on, so the cove was filled with music and people.  Needless to say, Madison LOVED the music.  We sat down on a blanket and watched our little munchkin dance away!

Days like this remind me why I love San Diego so much!

Birthday fun and Wine

Who doesn't love wine, especially on their birthday!
Today we celebrated Melanie's Big 4-0 in the best way...
we went wine tasting!
Everyone met at her house and we all loaded up in the "Magic Bus" and headed out to Temecula for a little wine and a lot of laughs!
We went to three different wineries
Misty flew down for the big occasion
The last winery was really fun, it was like we had the whole back room to ourselves.  Everyone celebrated, laughed and drank (just a little)
 Dad and Mel
 Mel & Chris
After visiting 3 wineries, it was finally time to head back to Mel's house to get some dinner.  We all hopped on the bus and got on the road... 15 minutes later we realized something... something kinda important... we left our dad at the winery!!

Apparently he went to the bathroom while we all loaded up and we didn't notice.  He came out of the bathroom just in time to see the bus driving away... now this might not have been very funny for him, but the rest of us on the bus thought it was HILARIOUS!  We could not stop laughing... so we turned around and picked him up.  He did not find much humor in the situation... hahahahaha
We got back to Mel's, ate some yummy Italian food and had dessert.
Mel was happy all day, but she seemed the happiest when she was sitting with her kids, blowing out the candles.
Happy 40th Mel!
Thanks for letting us tag along on your fun filled birthday!

3 months!

Another month older... another month wiser :)

 "Mom, seriously stop taking pictures!"

It's already been three months and I feel like I'm turning into a repeat record... time is flying by!  Riley is getting so big, she is drooling non-stop (teeth maybe?), she's got great head control now and she's smiling even more.

So I realized that I was posting 2 months, 3 months, etc, but all the pics of her are from the previous month! haha.  So the above pics are at 3 months exactly (7.26.12), but all the pics below are of the past month (2 months).... make sense? :-D

she still sleeps a lot...
One of her FAVORITE places to sleep or just hang out is her "green chair" {as Madison calls it}

So I lay her in there upright, but she always ends up the same way... she slides down, hangs her feet off the right side and tweaks her neck (it looks sooooo uncomfortable - but she's perfectly happy)
Riley's little personality is shining and it's so much fun spending time with her.  She's learned to sit in her bumbo like a BIG GIRL and she's still all SMILES!

Are you smiling now?
I bet you are!!!
Her smile is sweet, precious, warm, loving and sooooo contagious!
I feel so lucky to be the mom of another beautiful, sweet and loving little girl.

Happy Birthday Grandpa!

Happa Happa Grandpa!

Today we celebrated Grandpa Dennis's birthday, we relaxed out on the deck, enjoyed the kids company and opened some presents.
Daddy and Madison even went for a walk in "the woods"

Of course, Madison helped open all the presents

COUSINS! <3
The best part of today was seeing the kids together.  Madison just loves her cousin Cash and I can't wait to watch them grow up together!

Hot Potato, Hot Potato

Saying that Madison likes the Wiggles is an understatement!  Since she was a little baby, she LOVED watching them sing and dance {remember the first video I posted of her watching them?}.  Anyhow, sadly the Wiggles are retiring and passing on the torch to new younger members, but before that happens, they had one more world tour... so you know that we had to get tickets!  This was Madison's {and Riley's} 1st concert and it was so fun!  Watching her sing along and dance to all the songs was the cutest thing ever!
"wook Dadda - the Wiggles"
Murray even came up in the stand to say HI and take pictures... Madison was shouting, "It's Murray, It's Murray Momma!"
 Two years ago, we didn't even know who/what The Wiggles were... now Deven and I can sing along to every song! {and most of our family can too - haha}

(video)
It was kinda strange, the concert was at 6:30 and by the time we got out, it was still light out... haha, we're not used to concerts ending so early.  Thanks Wiggles, you're provided hours of entertainment and joy for our little munchkin.  We had a great time at the concert!  As Madison would say,
"Wove you Wiggles!!!"
