Week 33

This week our baby weighs a little over 4 pounds (heft a pineapple) and has passed the 17-inch mark. She's rapidly losing that wrinkled, alien look and her skeleton is hardening. The bones in her skull aren't fused together, which allows them to move and slightly overlap, thus making it easier for her to fit through the birth canal. These bones don't entirely fuse until early adulthood, so they can grow as her brain and other tissue expands during infancy and childhood.

Baby Shower!

Okay, I'm really behind on my updates! Deven and I have been soooooo busy that by the time I finally sit down, I'm falling asleep! So for everyone who's been bugging me... (Mom and Becky), here are more updates/pics... ENJOY :-D
------------------------------------------------------
As most of you know, I recently had my baby shower (Madison 1st offiicial party), hosted by my mom, Ivy. I don't even know where to begin... I'm a little speechless (I know... shocking!), but my mom definitely out did herself. She planned and planned and shopped and planned ... then planned some more and it all paid off! It was spectacular! She put so much thought, love and care into EVERY single detail; from the theme down to the refreshments.

I can't begin to thank her enough for making this party such a memorable and special day!! All our friends and family were there to celebrate our little girls arrival. Madison is very lucky that she has so many people who love her so much!

The soon to be parents!People dropped off books to add to Madison's Library!
Her bassinet
My mom and Nancy handmade all the diaper cakes - they were sooooo cute!!!
Uncle Jared made this (by hand) for Madison! I can't wait to hang it up in her room!

Week 32

By now, our baby weighs 3.75 pounds (pick up a large jicama) and is about 16.7 inches long, taking up a lot of space in my uterus. I'm gaining about a pound a week and roughly half of that goes right to my baby. In fact, she'll gain a third to half of her birth weight during the next 7 weeks as she fattens up for survival outside the womb. She now has toenails, fingernails, and real hair (or at least respectable peach fuzz). Her skin is becoming soft and smooth as she plumps up in preparation for birth.

Our next dr. appt is tomorrow, one more week closer... only 8 more weeks! :-D

Office Baby Shower

This past Friday my friend Kelly threw a beautiful shower for me at our office. She was able to transform our conference room into a wonderful party filled with great food, cake, friends and presents. I had such a wonderful time; I can't thank her enough for making it such a special party for our little girl!

Some of the girls I work with
Opening my gift from Kelly - she got us our highchair! :-D
Don't say these words or you'll lose your diaper!! Somehow Cami and Deven tricked most of the people into saying "Bottle"... sneaky sneaky!!
How cute is this cake?!?!
Such a cute giraffe! Madison will love cuddling with him!
I received so many wonderful presents, all I can say is that Madison will be one stylish little girl!

Week 31

This week, baby measures over 16 inches long. She weighs about 3.3 pounds (try carrying four navel oranges) and is heading into a growth spurt. She can turn her head from side to side, and her arms, legs, and body are beginning to plump out as needed fat accumulates underneath her skin. She's moving a lot, too, some may have trouble sleeping because the baby's kicks and somersaults keep them up. Take comfort: All this moving is a sign that your baby is active and healthy.

This weekend is full of events, my work shower is Friday and my family shower is Sunday... I can't wait to see everything!

Week 30

Our baby is about 15.7 inches long now, and she weighs almost 3 pounds (like a head of cabbage). A pint and a half of amniotic fluid surrounds her, but that volume will decrease as she gets bigger and takes up more room in my uterus. Her eyesight continues to develop, though it's not very keen; even after she's born, she'll keep her eyes closed for a good part of the day. When she does open them, she'll respond to changes in light but will have 20/400 vision — which means she can only make out objects a few inches from her face. (Normal adult vision is 20/20... unless your name is Angela)

I couldn't resist, I had to add another pic of my pretty little girl!

Also, per our last Dr. appt, I'm officially cleared... I do not have gestational diabetes - Yippee! Even though everything would have been okay, Deven and I are relieved, one less thing to have to worry about. Only 10 more weeks until we get to meet her!!!! :-D

4th of July!

Fun the the sun!
We spent the 4th of July in OC with the family. We just relaxed in the sun and I floated in the pool! (it's the only time I get to lay on my tummy - so comfortable). We all had a great time... eating, visiting and watching the fireworks. HAPPY 4th! :)
