Lake Arrowhead

The last weekend in June was my cousin Erin's wedding up in Lake Arrowhead.  It was so much fun having little weekend getaway... just me and the hubby! The wedding was held at the Arrowhead Springs Hotel and Spa and it was a beautiful location.  They even had a little "prom like" photo area set up where we got to take some fun pics!

Doesn't Misty look so pretty :)

Me, Mel and Misty having some fun!
My dad, aunts and uncles
It was NOT easy convincing Deven to take this pic!

After the wedding we stayed at this really cute little B&B, we didn't get to spend much time there, since we got in so late after the wedding.  Then we had to get up and head back to the hotel to say goodbye to everyone before heading home.
Even though our visit was very short, we had such a great time! We are definately planning on heading back for another longer vacation :)

Father's Day

Personally I think Deven should be writing this post himself, but since he's not much of a blogger, I'll speak on his behalf.  Today was his 1st official Father's Day - and if you ask me, it was a perfect day!

His day started out with a little surprise in the living room :)

After presents, we got dressed and went out for lunch
then it was time to head home, so Deven could watch some golf..... fun fun...
then it was off to dinner :)

Madison and I are so lucky to have such a wonderful man in our lives, he's the best husband and father and I just hope that his very 1st Father's Day was fun and memorable! :)

Earlier that week....
the colors
First the hands
next up - the feet
she's wasn't liking this too much
I think this picture sums it up!

First of all, I have to thank my sister Cami for taking all the pics, while I covered Madison in paint :)

It was so much fun making this shirt for Deven - it just made me realize how much I love being a mom and how much I love doing crafts with her!  Making the shirt took a little effort, some tears (from Madison) and a lot of laughs (from me and Cam) but it was so worth it.  The shirt came out so cute and Madison had fun being covered in paint - haha.  After I showed Deven all the pics he told me that he loved the shirt even more, because now when he wears it, he'll have the mental image of her being covered in paint ... and that image brings a smile to his face :-D

Girls Weekend!!!

Bride to be :)
Day 2 - out by the pool
This past weekend was Nicole's Bachelorette Party and all the girls went to Palm Springs.  It was so much fun - we relaxed by the pool, had delicious dinners and topped it off with a little bar hopping! Can't wait until the wedding in July! :)

My princess??

When I look at this picture all I can think is

She is going to love fairy tales, princesses, castles and of course prince charming!

I don't really know why it makes me think that, but I can just picture the next 5+ years, filled with lots girly things; playing dress up, wearing lots and lots of pink, trying to put on mommy's high heels and makeup, going to Disneyland to visit all the Princesses and of course pretending Deven is her prince charming (which means I'll probably end up being the wicked step-mother - haha).

When I look at this picture, I don't see a little 9 month old baby, I see my little girl who is growing up WAY TOO FAST!
I see my little princess...
wait a minute, did I just call her a princess?
It's amazing how I can look at this picture and think that she is my little princess., then I look at this video and wonder if princess is the right word to use... haha

9 months!

9 months - what can I say besides WOW!  She's definitely got the crawling thing down and now she's moved onto walking.  She can't walk by herself quite yet, but if she's got something to hold onto, she's ON THE MOVE!  She thinks everything is hers and she's into everything! Her hair is getting so thick and growing longer everyday, sometimes I forget that she had the HUGE bald spot - haha.  It will be so much fun when I can put her hair into ponytails or braids - I can't wait!

Here's the 9 month update

* She weighs about 19.5 lbs
* She's 28.5 in long
* She LOVES clapping
* She has 3 more teeth for a total now of 8 teeth
* She dances when she hears music
* She eats everything
and she'll wave hello and goodbye to you!

1st (of many) Padre Games!

I'm not sure who was more excited - Madison or Deven?!?
He couldn't wait to take his little girl to her 1st baseball game!
Off to the game!
family pic time
her hat looks so cute on her

HI!!!
daddy's little girl
Daddy, I'm tired... can we go home now?
Madison had sooo much fun at her first Padre game, she looked so cute in her baseball cap and Deven LOVED sharing his love of baseball with his little girl.  She was so interested in EVERYTHING and EVERYONE - she spent the whole game smiling at every person who walked by and trying to figure out what every new noise was - haha.  The very best was when the whole stadium started clapping and/or cheering, Madison would get so excited and start clapping herself - it was the cutest thing!  This was definitely the 1st of many baseball games to come!

Daddy's girl

Madison sure LOVES her daddy!  Whether it's snuggling with him in bed, relaxing with him on the couch or crawling over to nap on his chest while he plays video games... she is definitely in love him, but can you blame her?  He's pretty terrific!
I love catching these moments on camera (most of the time Deven doesn't even realize I'm taking pictures).   He is such an amazing father and he loves her so much! For the first few months, Madison slept on me pretty much all day (and night) and all Deven would say is,
"I wish she would fall asleep on me"
and of course I would tell him
"Just give it time, she's going to be such a Daddy's Girl"
and I was right, she's a little obsessed with her daddy... but like I said earlier, he's pretty terrific so I can understand why she loves him sooo much! :)
