Happy Birthday Mum

I don't think my birthday could have been more perfect!  Okay, I'm wrong...  once Riley arrives and she's able to join in the festivities, I guarantee it will be better :)

My birthday was on a Saturday which meant that the 3 of us got to spend the whole day together!  We slept in (sort of), had breakfast then opened presents.  Deven got me some beautiful flowers and Madison helped me open all my presents!

Doesn't she look so cute in her dress?

After presents we headed to Coronado where Deven made reservations at Sheerwater, this oceanfront restaurant at The Del.  Weather report said rain, but we lucked out - the weather was perfect.  Sunny and warm with a slight breeze.

Crab cake burger - sooooooo delicious!!!
My two favorite people

After lunch we walked around The Del and along the boardwalk.  We attempted to take a family picture, but Madison was NOT having it.  She wanted nothing to do with photos or being held.  All she wanted to do was walk... and walk... and walk!

stop and smell the flowers
I think this was the best pic of the two of us
When we were walking around The Del, Madison started to dance - here are a few pics of her dancing and laughing!
Like I said, it was the perfect day!  I got to spend my bday with my two favorite people just relaxing and enjoying this beautiful city we live in.  Thank you Deven for making my 29th bday such a special day!

Our future nephew!

So everyone is an Auntie... but me.  So when we found out that Deven's sister Candice was expecting her 1st baby, we were soo excited!  It meant that Deven and I were finally going to be Auntie and Uncle - yippee!  To make it even more exciting, Candice and I are both due on the same day - CRAZY HUH?  I mean really - what are the chances of that?!?!?

So this past weekend, we showered Candice and Baby Cash with lots of love {and gifts}!  The shower was so lovely and everyone had a great time.

The decorations were simple, sweet and perfect!
Grandma Nancy painted this for Candice and everyone who arrived wrote their name on one of the leaves - so adorable!

Here are a few pics of the mommy-to-be and the family and friends that showered her with love <3
Candice & her mom with John's mom & sisters

Of course, you can't have a shower without some delicious food & dessert!
Last but not least... PRESENTS!
It was so fun being apart of her and Cash's special day.  I can't wait until April, when we both get to welcome our little bundle's of joy into the world!  Our families are getting bigger and bigger {just like our bellies} and I love it!
DUE DATE = APRIL 26TH!

Welcome Home Matt!

As some of you may or may not have know, my cousin Matt has been in the Air Force, and after serving for the past 4 years, he's finally home... permanently!
this pic is from 18months ago...
The last time I saw him was on Sept 7th, 2010 (yes, you are correct, that is 2 days before the munchkin was born).  He was in town for 2 weeks and he came down to SD to visit us.   It seems like deja vu that the next time I see him I'm pregnant... again!

So here we are, in the present - the 5 of us cousins - at Matt's Welcome Home Party!
Even though everyone had fun at the party, Madison had a blast!!!

She made some new friends
And showed them how to play games on "her" Ipad
Then her and her new friends danced... and danced... and danced...
We had to drag her away when it was time to leave.  She was sooooo tired but had sooo much fun!

We are so happy that Matt is back (safe and sound) and we're even happier that he'll be around, so he can be in both Madison & Riley's life a lot more!

p.s.  I made this welcome home gift for him (and one for my aunt).

Riley's 4D Ultrasound

There is no question about who Riley is going to look like...
she'll look just like her big sister Madison!

No doubt about it... She's got the Lightner lips and nose, just like her sister and daddy!
it started out with just 2
 then we became 3
The 1st picture of our new family - all 4 of us!

Week 30 (round 2)

30weeks 3days
I can't believe that it's only 10 weeks away!!  As most of you already know, I love being a mom and I love being pregnant... it's truly an amazing experience.  It's hard to believe that 18 months ago I had a little peanut growing in my belly.  I love sitting here feeling my little girl kick and wiggle and while I'm soooo excited to meet her, I'm going to miss this special time... the bond that only her and I share <3

How our baby's growing:
Our baby is about 15.7 inches long now, and she weighs almost 3 pounds (like a head of cabbage). A pint and a half of amniotic fluid surrounds her, but that volume will decrease as she gets bigger and takes up more room in my uterus. Her eyesight continues to develop, though it's not very keen; even after she's born, she'll keep her eyes closed for a good part of the day. When she does open them, she'll respond to changes in light but will have 20/400 vision — which means she can only make out objects a few inches from her face. (Normal adult vision is 20/20... unless your name is Angela)
