Sea World!!

Scott and Brayden
Madison was staring at all the Sharks
She didn't like the penguins very much
how things change... babies, stollers and diaper bags...
Nicole and Tina
Today was our first outing to an amusement park - Sea World! Our friends Scott and Nicole came down with their little ones, Brayden and Tina. It was 70* in the middle of January, who could ask for a better day!?! It was so fun, Madison was such a good girl, she sat on our laps during all the shows. Of course she was more interested in all the birds flying around, and not very interested in Shamu - lol. Everyone knows that I think Madison is the most beautiful baby in the world, but when we were at one of the shows, a couple came up to Deven and said, "My wife thinks your daughter is so beautiful" can you believe it? It feels so wonderful to hear strangers tell us how pretty she is.
After a long fun day at Sea World, we came back to the house to eat dinner and to hang out. Madison had funny hanging out with her boy-buddy Brayden (we've decided that she's too young to have a boy-friend, but a boy-buddy is ok), and Tina sat with us and read some books. It's so much fun hanging out with other families with kids. I can't wait to share so many more memories with Scott and his family! :-D

Fun in the Sun

love those chubby cheeks!
I had the day off today which was so nice, since I got to just hang out w/my little princess. Since it was such a beautiful and sunny day, Madison and I went out into the backyard and layed together in the sun. I just can't get over how beautiful she is, her eyes... her lips... her chunky thighs... I love everything about her! <3

yum yum... food!

Today, Madison ate for the very first time... yummy rice cereal. She did really well, even though some got on her bib, she was able to keep most of it in her mouth. I can't believe how big she is, already eating food... my little girl is growing up so fast!

smiley

okay... step #1 - grab my toes
step #2 - get them in my mouthstep #3 - change my mind and eat my toy instead
Madison is getting so big, she loves to stand up like a big girl and she LOVES to smile! She is such a happy baby, we are so lucky! She also loves to put everything in her mouth... Deven's nose, all her toys, her fingers, and especially her toes!

4month checkup

During the appt ...(aka before the shots)
after the shots - so sad :(

Today Madison had her 4month checkup with the pediatrician. She is now 15.4lbs and 26in long. She is growing wonderfully - the Dr. said that her head looked beautiful (meaning that she's getting a lot of good tummy time - no flat head for her), she also checked her vision and hearing and said that she was actually further along than most babies her age, since she can track things so well and her head control is go good. The Dr. said we can even start feeding her food... yum yum! She's also starting to teeth... well sort of, the Dr. said that at this stage the teeth could come in a few weeks or months. She's also VERY vocal, hopefully we'll hear her say momma or dadda soon!

Next was the part that we both hate... shots :( She was such a happy baby during the whole checkup until the shots. She turned bright red and started crying, it breaks my heart to see her so sad... but luckily it didn't last too long. Since I gave her some baby Tylenol before the appt, she took a long nap and then woke up as happy as can be!

4 months!

Today Madison is 4 months old - WOW - can you believe how fast time is flying by??!?!? It seems like yesterday that we brought her home and she could barely opened her eyes.

Now she can do sooo much!
She smiles
She rolls
She loves when mommy sings to her
She kicks and wiggles
She plays and even holds her toys
She loves to stand (with help from mom and dad of course)
She loves to sit on our laps like a big girl
She dances with her daddy
She loves music
She loves twinkling lights
She likes to sit in her high chair during dinner with us
She talks (baby talk of course)
and the best thing of all.....
She laughs!!!

The first time Madison laughed was sooo memorable. Deven was standing in the bathroom doorway holding her and I was brushing my teeth. He was holding her arm and pretending to punch me in the nose and I of course was making funny faces while he was doing it... then she laughed! It was absolutely the best sound in the entire world! I was sooo happy that I started crying, she laughed a few more times and then she was done. We of course spent the rest of the night making funny faces to try and make her laugh - she didn't laugh, instead she just looked at us like we were crazy - haha. She's laughed a few more times since, but today was the 1st time I could get it on camera.
Enjoy!! :-D

I love to

drool.....
Tonight we enjoyed a relaxing evening by the fire. It was so fun watching Madison stare and react to the flickering and cracking of the fire. She of course got bored with it after a few minutes and returned to doing what she does best.... drooling... lots and lots of drooling.

Happy New Year!

Well New Years Eve was completely different than any other year...we spent a quiet night at home with our little girl - who was dressed to impress (don't you just love her sparkly shoes!) She even made it up to midnight... well midnight east coast time - haha.

Madison had so much fun playing and we even recorded her saying Happy New Year (in baby talk of course!) :-D
2010 was such a life changing and AMAZING year. On Jan 5th we found out I was pregnant... gosh, in some ways it feels like yesterday and in other ways, it feel like ages and ages ago. So much has happened this year; being pregnant and having Madison, moving and Deven even got a new job. Sometimes I can't believe that in a year Madison went from being the size of a peanut to our 15lb little munchkin! (remember her very 1st pic?) - doesn't that seem like ages ago?!? So much has happened even since she's been born, she's getting so big. She can smile and play with toys and sit up (with some help) and she loves to spend time with her mommy and daddy.

It's hard to grasp the fact that last year I was at a bar drinking champagne with Deven wondering when (and if ) I'd ever get pregnant. Our 2009 had been such a trying and traumatic year, that we just wanted it over so we could move on to 2010... I could never have imagined how great 2010 would be! :-D

I know that this next year will be so much fun; watching Madison learn to laugh, crawl, talk, walk, etc. I'm so happy to welcome 2011 and all the wonderful memories I'll get to create, but I have to admit, I'm a little sad to see 2010 go... this past year will forever and always hold a special place in my heart, since it's the year I became a mom <3
