Finally home!

It's so nice being home, especially when your home is filled with family, love and happiness.  Riley had more visitors and they all wanted to hold her.

It's amazing how much our lives have changed in the past few days.  I can't believe we've added another little angel into our family, Deven and I feel so blessed!  We can wait to create some wonderful family memories, but for now, I think we just want to sleep... nighty night!

Hi Riley, I'm Madison

After 14+ hours in labor, I was a little tired.  By the time we got up to our room it was after midnight and they still had to do all the different newborn procedures... so it was a LONG night.  Riley was also a little Jaundice, so they had to do one additional blood test to confirm (luckily her levels were pretty low, so they said not to worry, it would go away over the next few days).  We finally got to bed around 2am and luckily Riley didn't wake up too many times.  Nursing went smoothly and I actually felt pretty good the next day.  

So it was time for more visitors, it was so nice to see everyone, but there was one person in particular that we were SOOOO excited to see........ MADISON!  We couldn't wait for her to meet her new little sister <3

Needless to say, she LOVED her instantly!!!  She climbed up on the bed and wanted to touch her, hold her and kiss her.  Seeing the love she had for her little sister filled my heart with so much joy.  This was one of those moments as a parent that you treasure forever!

 So everyone had to wear a VISITOR sticker, but not Madison... her sticker said BIG SISTER (can you see it on the back of her dress?)  so cute!

We checked out of the hospital the next morning, it was so nice to be going home!  Deven was tired of sleeping on the couch/bed and I was ready to get out of the hospital room (plus we really missed Madison).

So we got Riley all dressed in her new outfit (not a hand-me-down) and got ready to bring her home!

She'll be spending MANY hours in this, hope she likes it! haha

We can't wait to bring her home and get all settled.  We are officially a family of four... let the adventure begin! <3

Riley Marie has arrived!!

She's finally here!!

Riley Marie was born on April 26, 2012 at 9:34pm.  She is 8lbs 3.4oz and 20in long.  She has {A TON} of brown hair, dark blue eyes and looks exactly like her BIG sister!  She's perfect in every way and we are completely and utterly in love!

We checked in Thursday morning around 6:30am and they started the induction process by 7:30am.  This labor was very similar to Madison's,  I made it to about 5-6cm before getting the epidural {which was around 8:15pm} and the pain disappeared... until about an hour later.  

A little after 9pm I seriously thought the epidural stopped working; the pain was back and I was really uncomfortable, so the nurse decided to check me again.  Her reaction was, "the baby is here, we are paging the Dr. right now!" soooo, not only was I finally at 10cm, but the baby was ready to come out... NOW!  I was told to NOT push and stay as relaxed as possible.  Since Madison came out with only 20 min of pushing, the nurse expected a similar result for Riley, so they prepped the room right away.  

It took about 15 minutes for the Dr. to get to the room {so it was about 9:30pm now} and the pushing began... well not that much pushing, becuase Riley came out on the 2nd push {9:34pm}!  She was faster than her sister.  So after 14 hrs of labor, we finally got to meet our baby girl <3

It was after 11pm by the time everyone left and it was just us 3.

We feel sooo lucky and blessed, we've added another beautiful little girl into our family and she is already so loved by everyone.

Before we become 4

Soon we will be adding a new addition to our little family, which means that Madison will no longer be the center of our universe... she'll now have to share the spotlight with her little sister.

As all of you know, I take A LOT of pictures and I don't always post them, so I thought I'd take this opportunity to post some pictures from the past few weeks.  This will be the last time Madison is an only child, before she becomes a BIG SISTER.  I'm so excited to welcome Riley to our little family, but it's going to be really weird having two kids!  It will defiantly be an adjustment... it won't just be me and my munchkin anymore.

These are my FAVORITE pics.  During my entire pregnancy, Madison was preparing for her role as a BIG sister.  We'd ask her where Riley was and she'd run over to me and say, "Hi RyRy, Wuv you Ryry" then she'd rub and kiss my belly.  For some reason we never got a picture, until the very last night I was pregnant...

Riley was born the very next day!
