Riley's Baptism

I think this past week was the busiest week we've had all year!
RECAP
Saturday = Becky & Dan fly to CA (woo hoo!!)
Sunday = Father's Day
Wednesday = Leave for Pismo
Saturday afternoon = Get home from Pismo
Saturday evening = Becky & Dan arrive at our house
Sunday = Riley's Baptism

Whew... I'm glad this week is over!  We had such a fun time at ALL the events, but it sure was tiring (and seeing that I have 2 kids under 2, I'm already tired - all the time - haha)!  So onto the big event - Riley's Baptism.

It was such a special day, filled with family, friends, love and of course God.  We chose our great friends Becky & Jared as her Godparents and since Becky (and her family) were already in town on vacation, we scheduled the baptism the same weekend, so that she could attend (since she lives in IL).  We were so happy that all our family was able to be here to celebrate this wonderful and blessed occasion.

We took some pictures of Riley and her Godparents before heading to the church
As parents, we felt so proud to introduce Riley to our church and welcome her into God's community.  Our church held a beautiful service that was completely centered around Riley's Baptism.
The godparents and grandparents were also asked to join us in the front of church
The blessing
Our church makes the Baptism feel so special.  We are presented with flowers, a certificate of Baptism and a hand quilted blanket for Riley.
Riley was such a perfect little angel that whole morning.  She was awake and alert during the whole baptism and then she slept during the rest of the service.
After the service was over, it was time for more pictures (Come on, are you surprised?  You can never have too many pictures! haha)

Of course I had to include a pic of this adorable little family! {In case you didn't know} Becky had a daughter {Reagan Elizabeth Ryan} who was born almost 2 months before Riley, and we were all VERY excited to meet her!
We left the church and headed back to the house to eat, drink, play and celebrate this wonderful day.

 Auntie Cami made and decorated the cake
{ it came out so cute! }
I'm so upset that I didn't take a picture of Madison & Riley together... not sure if you can tell, but they are wearing matching dresses {sort of}.  They are the same dress and design, just different colors.
Riley is such a lucky little girl, she has the most loving godparents and family in the world.  She was surrounded by so much love today -- that love brings a smile to my face and joy in my heart!
