we {heart} SF

There is no question... we {HEART} San Francisco!

We took a little family trip up north to visit one of our favorite people - Auntie Misty {aka Nina}.  Since we were there for 4 1/2 days, there are A LOT of pictures!

THURSDAY
Our flight was delayed and delayed and delayed... {which worked out, since I can never seem to leave on time, especially with 2 kids and a husband to pack}

The last time we flew up to SF, Riley was in my belly...
this time she was on my lap :)

  waiting for the airplane

FRIDAY
It was a clear and beautiful day {strange for SF}, so went for a walk down to the Marina.

Since she was a big girl, she did NOT want to sit in her stroller, so she walked with Deven... until she decided it was time to rest.  So that's what she did!
She plopped down in the middle of the sidewalk
Did you notice her new toy {aka souvenir}?  Daddy bought her a sock monkey, which she carried around for the rest of the trip :)

We finally made it down to the water and it was beautiful out!

The walk home was a little funny... in order to get to the Marina, you have to walk DOWN a really BIG hill, which means that walking back requires you to walk UP a really BIG hill.  Between the 2 kids, diaper bag and stroller... it was a hard walk {for Deven that is - haha}.

SATURDAY
Who doesn't LOVE a Farmer's Market?  Especially the one in SF!  I wish we had one like this by us.  Every time we are here I get soooo envious... they have the most amazing food/products and I hate that we live so far away!

So we went down to Pier 1, had breakfast, did a little shopping and of course had a little treat!
 Riley slept the whole time
{as usual}

SUNDAY
You can't go to SF without going to Fisherman's Wharf!  Now do you remember when we 1st took Madison here?  It feels like yesterday... (see here).  Now it was Riley's turn :)

Since it was our last FULL day here {sadly we left the next day}, we had it jam packed with fun!
Here are some of the things we did:
* rode on the bus
* visited the Wharf
*rode the Carousel
*bought some fudge (yummers)
*met up with my good friend Ben
*went to Ghirardelli
* took a TON of pictures :)
 one stroller... the kids took turns strolling in it :)
 I think this picture sums up the Lightner Family perfectly!

1) Riley is attached to Momma
2) Momma is putting on chapstick
3) Madison is trying to get out of the stroller
4) Daddy is not paying attention
hahahaha

Since we walked so much already, we decided to take the bus down to the Wharf
 Riley loved looking out the window
I think we'll leave her beanie on today! haha
 We were finally at the Wharf!
 LOVE

Deja vu?

 the girls <3
 the smile says it all!
time for the carousel

 This was how Riley spent most of her day :)
we were off to Ghirardelli
{So momma could get some dessert}
It was finally time to head back to Misty's house
Ben and Riley became friends
She thought that meant she could have his beer
Since it was our last night in SF, Misty was so kind and watched the little ones so Deven and I could go out on a date.  We of course went to Sushi and it was amazingly good!  It's always so nice getting to spend one-on-one time with my hubby. <3
The second day we were there, Madison got really sick... congested, sneezing, runny nose... so sad.  Luckily she was still in a great mood and we were able to do most of the things we wanted to do, but when we weren't out and about, we were hanging out at Misty's house.

We were able to capture a few fun and silly moments

 Misty decided she wanted to do a little photo shoot with Riley.

 she was a good sport

 Okay Auntie, time to stop taking pictures,
I'm going to hide my face!
Madison was being sooo silly, she kept walking around the house like this - haha

LOVE that these moments were captured!
MELTS.MY.HEART!

After everyone was done playing, it was bathtime.  It was really easy for Madison, but Riley can't sit up and she's really hard to hold when she's wet and soaped up!  This was the 1st time I actually needed Deven to help me bathe her - haha.  And of course, Misty was there with the camera :)

 yes, she's checking herself out in the mirror :)
 all clean and time for snuggles with Auntie

and she's out!

San Fran {and Misty}, we love visiting you and every time we are here, we wish we could stay longer.  I love being able to take these little family vacations, they are so fun and they create so many wonderful memories.  I can't wait until we are back in nor cal again :)
